Pleasant Hill Miniature Cattle

Our Farm

Established 2020

We are located in Olive Branch, Mississippi, which is just south of Memphis, Tennessee.  We are situated on approximately 18 acres in the community of Pleasant Hill, Mississippi.

When I was young and was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would always say I wanted to be a "Purple Cow". For that reason, we decided to incorporate the purple in our logo for our Miniature Cattle operation.

My father, Erlend Nichols, always had a passion for cattle and although he would say I was crazy for starting a herd at my age, if he were here today, I know we wouldn't be able to keep him away from our backyard!

Our Story

Local Family Farm

My father and grandfather started a Dairy operation when my father was very young.  When we were growing up my father always had Angus and Hereford cattle until his health made him unable to care for them.  He always took great pride in taking care of them and just loved seeing them in the field.

I have thought for sometime about getting cattle for our small acreage around our home site.  With approximately 18 acres we aren't really set up for the stress that full size cattle would put on our property, so I started researching alternatives.

In late 2019 I was able to talk my wife into investing in two miniature British White heifers and a miniature Highland/British White bull from RCM Miniature Cattle Company all the way in Carbondale, Colorado.

The rest has been a very rewarding experience!
